Back to Basics...
I've been thinking a lot lately about what I should be doing differently in 2019 than I've done before to differentiate myself from my competitors and add more value to my client engagements. I'm been finding this tough to do, and I'm sure you face the same challenges in growing your IT organization.
I mean, on the one hand we all deliver a suite of "must-have" services that our clients appreciate and receive tons of value from. Then we have other services that we may have offered as a one-off, or offer infrequently and don't really promote due to different factors. We also have a few services we may have delivered in the past that are great services but we don't really promote anymore for whatever reason.
And finally we have a wish list of services that we would like to deliver, but that would take more time, energy and effort than we currently have in order to fully develop, market and sell them.
I've ultimately decided that I'm going back to the basics, and deliver only those services that offer the highest value to my clients (and the greatest profit potential for me) and really move the needle for them. Over the years, I've discovered that the more strategic I can be to my clients, the greater the benefit I can be to them, and this means getting back to the basics and best practices for business improvement and growth.
